Safety Tips

Before we reach you, these are some tips to keep you and
your family safe from the hazards of the road.

If possible try to move your vehicle to the right-hand
side of the road out of the direction of traffic.
Stationing yourself on a divided highway’s left side is
extremely dangerous but sometimes unavoidable.

Turn on your Emergency Flashers
·
If possible try to move your vehicle as far away from
the traffic as you can, obtaining enough space to safely
open your door without stepping into traffic.
Be Prepared for Problem/Emergency Situations
and keep the following items in your vehicle:

Flashlights
·
Warning Devices - Flares or reflective triangles
SAFETY NOTE: When using flares, place them at least
100 feet from the rear of the vehicle

Blankets
·
First-aid kit
·
Cellular Phone - A cell phone comes in handy when a
motorist needs assistance in the event of a vehicle
breakdown.

Snow Brush or Ice Scraper - TIP:
If you drive an SUV or van a long handle brush will make
quick work of clearing snow from the roof
·
Shovel - a small shovel can be a life saver when you
need to dig snow away from the tires.r
·
Small amount of coarse sand or kitty
litter, for traction in the snow.
